Yog and Recreation

Krida Yog is a holistic wellness program for students to aid physical and cognitive development in formative years (6-15 years). Many of the adult health outcomes are based on what you do in adolescence. Yog provides training of mind and body to bring emotional balance. It is claimed that yog leads to alignment and harmony. Yog may contribute to healthy development and good mental health; health promotion for children needs to include improvement of their attention, self-esteem, empowerment, and self-regulation. Krida Yog is a well-researched and planned program that combines the art of wellness, joy of recreation and the potential of learning.

First, we address how children and young people in today’s world face numerous expectations and constant stimulation through the Internet and other media and communication technologies. Furthermore, a more significant number of youth are diagnosed with conditions such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Increased pressure is also exerted on them to succeed in school now than in previous times.

Secondly, there is also a common observation that children are quite good at hiding their distress and emotional stress from their parents since they do not want their parents to worry about their account. They desire to please their parents by their “appropriate” and “socially right” behaviours.

Thus, yog helped children and young people to cope with stress and contribute positively to balance in life, wellbeing, and mental health. Similarly, yog in schools helped students improve resilience, mood, and self-regulation skills.
The yog session is conducted by Mr Lokesh Chawre, a certified and experienced Yog trainer.
