Slum To School

Research findings have shown that undernutrition is becoming more pervasive in urban poor, including slum dwellers, migrants and unskilled labour class. In an endeavour to provide adequate nutrition, educate and empower the underprivileged children of these families, Bhavyata Foundation started providing daily lunch meals to the 120 malnourished children to two schools of Navjeevan Prathamik Vidyamandir situated at Thane, Maharashtra, India, run for children of underprivileged. The lunch meal offered by Bhavyata Foundation sourced from Annamrita Foundation is influential in sincere attempts to alleviate starvation.

Your donations save you money on taxes because all donations to Bhavyata Foundation are eligible for tax-deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

Donate Education Aids

Parents of these children are daily wage earners, house helpers, construction workers, who reside in a nearby slum neighbourhood. The programme focuses on addressing critical needs and capitalises on them, a potential to empower education, skill development and livelihoods. We aim to provide the schools with necessary resources like tables, stationery, bags etc. for around 120 children. These children deserve a fulfilling future and we help by providing the basic necessities so they have a good enough foundation.

Donate Education Infrastructure

To attract street children and those in underprivileged slum neighbourhood’s children to school and to get them educated we share the financial responsibility of the parents and thereby encouraging them to send their children for proper education to local schools with proper infrastructure and resources. A good school with appropriate facilities according to the current needs like computers, sanitation kits, proper hygienic classrooms, drinking water facilities etc. will motivate parents and excite the children to attend schools.

Donate Daily Meals

A medical examination was conducted where children were found undernourished and anaemic. Hence, there was a need to supply a regular intake of nutritious and tasty meals with proteins. The nourishing, sumptuous and sanctified meal consisted of different menus such as khichadi (a mix of rice, dal and vegetables- cooked with spices and tomatoes), Chapattis & Sabzi, Rice, Sambhar, etc. as per local tastes which were cooked cost-effectively with all the hygiene.

School education for slum children with nutrition, health and hygiene and educational infrastructure support

Research findings have shown that the under-nutrition is becoming more pervasive in oppressed communities, including slum dwellers, primitive communities and remote communities. This implies the presumption of equitable distribution necessitates reinforced coverage and service quality of these target groups. In an endeavour to provide adequate nutrition, educate and empower the underprivileged children, Bhavyata Foundation started providing daily lunch meals to the 120 children to two schools of Navjeevan Prathmik Vidyamandir situated at Thane from July since the year 2018 till date.
The meal offered by Bhavyata Foundation sourced by Annamrita Foundation was influential in reiterating the pledge to tackle starvation and hunger. Therefore, the programme focuses on addressing the overall problem of education linked to nutrition to ensure harnessing potential to empower learning and skilling.
